The temple of Lord Suvarnaganesha is the one of the main attractions of tourists visiting here. An ancient half statue of Ganpati made of gold and some ornaments were found in a farm.

Diveagar is situated approximately 200 km from Mumbai & 150 km from Pune. Reaching Diveagar is quite easy, take a right turn from Mangaon on the Mumbai-Goa highway, from here it’s a one-hour drive to Diveagar.

From Pune the route is Paud Road - Pirangut - Tamhini ghat – Mangaon - Diveagar. It takes around 5.5 hours to reach there. The uniqueness of this place is simplicity and calmness which is rarely found on other picnic spots. As there are hardly any vehicles, the air is fresh without any smoke of vehicles. All the places are quiet and calm by 6 to 7 a.m.

The
Shekhadi Road leading to Diveagar is a very pleasant drive as the road is parallel to the coastline and you can see many breathtaking views along the entire stretch of the road. Another beautiful destination very close to Diveagar is Srivardhan.

Harihareshwar located at only 18 kms. from Srivardhan is also a beautiful place with with an ancient Shiv Temple and Kalbhairav Temple situated on the beach. Harihareshwar beach is also a very clean and excellent beach. MTDC has very a good resort at Harihareshwar with Tents to stay.

The Fort of Janjira on the sea is the only one of its kind. Janjira Jal-durg (sea fort) was constructed by Malik Ambar, an Abssinian minister in the service of the Sultan of Ahmednagar, who belonged to the famous Nizamshahi dynasty. The fort, built at the end of the 17th Century, is almost entirely intact even today, despite the ravages of wind and tide, a testimony to the marvels of ancient engineering.

The sea fort of Janjira could not be conquered by any of the kings ruling the neighbouring territories. Surprisingly, not even Shivaji could acquire it. This fort took 22 years to build and is constructed on 22 acres of land. The fort is oval shaped. The huge fort wall is about 40 feet high and has 19 rounded porches or arches, some of which still have cannons mounted on them, including the famous cannon 'Katlal Bhankari'. These cannons were largely responsible for repelling oncoming enemies from the sea. Inside the fort walls, the ruins of a mosque, a palace and bath. The deep well with cold and sweet water - a wonder of nature in the midst of the saline sea, still provides water to quench the thirst of the weary visitor.

One can reach Alibag through Pen (124 km away), which is well connected with Mumbai and Pune. Alibag has beautiful beaches and you will get a range of accommodation options, from luxury hotels to mid budget motels and economy lodges.
